When my renters destroyed my rental, i could not find a contractor that was good that had the time to get to my job, being it was in the fall. Then my son told me about Edstrom. He used them in the past, and i saw the quality of their work. They did a fantastic job. Now my renal looks even better then it did before. Not only that, but they care about the home owners as well. Go to them first. And avoid all the stress that comes, when your place is damaged. Edstrom Construction was my number one choice when looking for a contractor to handle my minor flood in November of 2016. Mr. Edstrom was very timely when it came to assessing the damage as well as informing me what was not done by the folks my insurance company suggested for water mitigation. His expertise and willingness to ensure our home was returned to top condition came to light when he provided my insurance company with the proof that my home was quite a bit more damaged compared to what the other company presented. Mr. Edstrom is without a doubt willing to go the extra mile to ensure that his customers get the repairs they deserve in these stressful situations. A lot of things went smooth and a handful of thing went rough throughout this experience as we would all expect. life happens and no one gets time to prepare for how we handle every event. When it came to the repairs that were made to my home I give Edstrom Construction two thumbs up. The laborers were respectful and pleasant to deal with when I had to interract with them. Most of the blemishes or things that were not done to my satisfaction were handled appropriately by Mr. Edstrom. I must admit that Mr. Edstrom will ensure things are made right one way or another. I have taken my time to offer verbal feedback to Mr. Edstom on the things that I was not satisfied with. I feel that as a growing local business feedback on the good and the bad is very important. Mr. Edstrom reassured me that he utilizes any and all feedback to improve the quality of work as well as how business is conducted in the future. My two biggest issues were timeliness on the completion of the project as well as communication over these matter. The repairs took almost 4 months from start to finish which forced a lot of uncomfortable lifestyle adjustments for my household. We survived our first and hopefully last homeowners insurance claim. I wish Edstrom Construction the best of luck conducting business in North Pole and the surrounding areas! We are currently working with Chase and Edstrom construction, following a twice frozen over home due to fuel theft. Within 30 minutes of calling chase for an estimate, he was at my new home walking me through the process. This says a lot when compared to the other large names in Fairbanks. Chase has repeatly gone above and beyond to ensure that we have been taken care of. Our insurance company spent weeks low balling our claim, and Chase was constantly on the phone with them to make things right. I hope I never have to use their services again, but in the event that I do, I'll know we have the best in the interior. I have a house that I am trying to sell. I am currently in the state of Wyoming and the House I am selling is in North Pole AK. Long story short, My house froze. Chase and his crew have been very helpful. Chase has talked me through what I need to do from making sure the Insurance company is contacted to contacting the Mortgage holder for the paperwork need for his payments. Chase was there with in minutes after being call for the frozen house. Thanks to Chase and his crew all I have to worry about is the checks for his payments from the insurance company. Thanks!!!! Chase and his crew completed an addition on our home one year ago. In the beginning, Chase was very responsive, friendly, got things going fairly quickly, wrote a thorough itemized estimate, took the time to explain how the process would work, what materials/design would be best, etc. Once the deal was sealed, however, we didn’t see as much of Chase, and he never came to see the finished project in person. His foreman was awesome and helped make up for the dwindling communication as the job went on. A few mistakes were made along the way (no big deal, it happens) and while some were addressed and fixed (the only right, professional thing to do) a couple others never were. There were promises, but no follow through. Separate from the unaddressed issues mentioned above, this first winter our addition experienced, we dishearteningly realized that water was dripping from directly behind our sheet-rock (on the warm side of the vapor barrier), causing mold and water damage. We weren’t looking at all to point fingers as we understood there could be a myriad of possible causes, with ice damming at the top of the list. Our roof was properly installed for Alaskan/arctic conditions and ice dams were not present when this behind-the-sheetrock dripping occurred. We were puzzled and heartbroken to say the least. Of course then we reached out to Chase to come help us figure it out before more damage was done. After all, they were the ones who designed and constructed it and could hopefully provide some valuable insight and offer possible solutions. (And even further, use it as a learning experience in case another client experienced and share the knowledge!) After promising to come 3 separate times over a course of several months, Chase never showed up. After the third time being stood up in which I missed work and rearranged our children's schedules, I simply asked for some kind of response/reason for not showing and when we could reschedule – no response at all. Highly disappointing and unprofessional. I completely understand how new money and gigs are more attractive to a business’ bottom line; however, an exceptional business owner would deliver a consistent level of customer service and follow-through at all stages of the client life cycle, not just while sealing the deal. With a couple issues still not resolved, substandard suggestions about design (which we’re learning from other contractors) and a lack of professionalism in following up, we’re not the most impressed of past clients. Follow through and customer service go a long way.
