I get that there is a fast convenience to some of the businesses that service vehicles in Fairbanks, but let me tell you if you want more than speed with non-mechanics taking care of you….go to Expressway Auto in North Pole! They are very customer oriented, knowledgeable, prices are fair, and you might have fun. They used to have this good looking redbearded guy changing oil and tires and he was just such an amazing lube tech, shame they let him leave, really made the business what it is today I have an 2000 Dodge Dakota that needed to be shipped through the VPC and pass their pre-inspection. I went in to expressway out with a lot to correct and little time to do it. These guys did everything i need, even took me in at moments notice when an emergency came up, helped with advice and not only that but the people there really care! After spending 4 years in North Pole and having multiple run-ins with vehicle issues I'd have to say it was well worth it. Hopefully I come back to Alaska someday! Did a number on my 97 Silverado 350 driving up from Colorado and had these guys rebuild my motor. They rebuilt the engine at their machine shop and brought it back to Expressway to reinstall. The whole process took about a week and a half which I think is well within reason. The price is a little higher than some mechanics but the 1 years leak warranty and 3 year mechanical failure warranty pushed me to them. Nearly a year goes by and I take the truck in again for a front differential leak, the front desk fella walks out and tells me that they found leaks on my block and that they wanted to rebuild it again. So about two weeks, a few thousand dollars (their expense), and a free loaner car later I have my truck back. Sure this was inconvenient but what stood out to me the most was that this company found a mistake I may have never noticed and despite the scale of it, remedied it and sent me on my way. Not many businesses, especially mechanics shops, show that kind of integrity. I'll be bringing all my vehicles to Expressway from here on out. They're professional and quick. They always accommodate me quickly if something unexpected happens with my temperamental car
