This store has a stable team of employees who've institutionalized excellence. Regional and national corporate managers need to recognize what wonderful employees they have here and learn from them. The worst Safeway I have ever seen. The produce is horrible at best and the selection overall is dismal. Safeway usually has a great selection of overall items but this location is is seriously lacking in EVERYTHING! With the 135’s coming to Eielson one would think they would abandon the crappy building owned by Gavora and build a new location. Fred Meyer would smart if they built a location in North Pole, then Safeway would be forced to build a new location due to the fact Gavora will not allow them to remodel to mirror modern locations. DO SOMETHING SAFEWAY!!!!!!!! Going here saves me a trip to town. I really like the meat department. I also like to take advantage of $5 Friday and club card specials! This is always a clean grocery store. About half of the cashiers are pleasant. Due to it being New Year's Eve, I went shopping and there were lines backed up into the food isle's, with people waiting. There were at least three maybe four registers closed? They all should have been open due to the holiday and shopping frenzy. This is always a problem, and this is one of the reasons why I dont shop at Safeway.
